Announcement Regarding Possible Postal Service Disruption

The Environmental Appeal Board is aware of the potential for a postal service disruption related to collective bargaining affecting Canada Post. During this time, the Board remains reachable at:

4th Floor, 747 Fort Street
Victoria BC  V8W 3E9
Telephone:  (250) 387-3464
Email: info@bceab.ca

Individuals involved with existing appeals before the Board are encouraged to send digital copies of any documents that they need to send and to communicate with the Board via email. If there are any concerns about doing so, those with concerns should telephone their assigned Case Manager to discuss and to find solutions given their particular needs and concerns.

Those looking to file an appeal are encouraged to do so electronically. Both fillable and non-fillable PDFs of the Board’s Notice of Appeal are available on its website at www.bceab.ca/resources/forms-and-templates/. They can be emailed to info@bceab.ca. While filing an appeal requires a filing fee to be paid, the Board will take into account the postal strike when deciding what is a “reasonable time” within which the fee must be paid under section 22(4) of the Administrative Tribunals Act.

Please note that there are statutory timeframes by which appeals must be filed with the Board. The Board does not have the authority to extend those timeframes. Anyone unable to file an appeal with the Board because of a postal strike should contact the Board via telephone to discuss their situation.
