Raincoast Research Society appealed the decision of the Deputy Administrator to issue the a Pesticide Use Permit to the Ministry of Forests, authorizing the application of the herbicide glyphosate to three areas on the mainland coast of British Columbia, and to the Campbell River airport.
Prior to the commencement of the hearing, Raincoast agreed to abandon its appeal on the condition that certain amendments be made to the permit. The Ministry of Forests and the Deputy Administrator agreed to these terms, and, with the consent of the parties, the Board ordered that the permit be referred back to the Deputy Administrator to amend the permit accordingly. The appeal was allowed, by consent.
