The Environmental Appeal Board has been informed that its mail provider, BC Mail, will not offer deliveries or pickups during collective bargaining action.
Those involved with existing appeals before the Board are encouraged to communicate with the Board via telephone and email, using the contact information provide to them in their particular appeal.
Those looking to file an appeal are encouraged to do so electronically. Both fillable and non-fillable PDFs of the Board’s Notice of Appeal are available on its website at www.bceab.ca/resources/forms-and-templates/. They can be emailed to info@bceab.ca. While filing an appeal requires a filing fee to be paid, the Board will take into account the postal strike when deciding what is a “reasonable time” within which the fee must be paid under section 22(4) of the Administrative Tribunals Act.
Please note that there are statutory timeframes by which appeals must be filed with the Board. The Board does not have the authority to extend those timeframes. Anyone unable to file an appeal with the Board because of a postal strike should contact the Board via telephone to discuss their situation.
